Environmentalism and Liberty

As somebody who considers himself to be an environmentalist, I've always struggled explaining to people how protection of the environment would be possible in a libertarian society. True libertarians not advocate the initiation of force to achieve political or social goals, and that is the opposite mindset of most environmentalists. People around the world have this impression that through the force of government, anything can be accomplished. This is false in most cases, and protection of the environment is no exception. The truth is, government IS the problem in this matter. Anybody who cares for the environment should strive to live a green lifestyle, but if you are turning off your lights and buying hybrid vehicles because the government tells you so, you should look the government in the eye and say, "Get rid of your bombs and tanks first."

Hi, friends! This is my first post on this blog. I'm not 100% sure which direction I'm going to take it yet, but I've already started work on my first real entry. I'm going to be writing a series of articles on how to launch a successful internet community. As many know, I've made my fair share of mistakes as an administrator over at Chex Quest Fan Forums.
